    Thanks a lot for your informative answer, I have a problem that I think is related or similar. As you can see, Defender shows that I have a win32 virus! but I cannot do anything about it, cannot remove it using defender neither manually. I tried to use another antivirus, but that virus makes my laptop really slow and unresponsive, a minute or two after windows starts working, it crashes BSoD shows with a different error message everytime. so shortly my laptop is unusable now :...

    I don't know if the virus cached by defender is the same virus causing my system to crash because most win32 viruses download other viruses on your system!

    Also, every time the system shows BSoD and crashes, I have a very hard time booting it up again, I get a lot of booting errors such as "no boot device foubd" and so...

    I have very important files on my pc that I cannot lose under any circumstances...

    I tried to copy a project that I was working on to another laptop Before I knew it was a virus, I was just getting BSoD at first and now, that laptop is worse than mine, after the windows logo disapears, the first thing I get is BSoD saying "BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO" and reboots. No mater how many times I try its the same...

    do I need to get a virus protection and not count on defender

    That depends on your own preferences and habits.

    Windows 10 comes with in-built AV Windows Defender.

    1) Do steps 1, 2 and 5 in this multi-step removal guide:

    2) Do not download anything from the link (pcrisk) which another user previously posted. It's one of those SpyHunter pushing sites. SpyHunter is a commercial program which is absolutely not recommended here in Microsoft Community.
