Windows 10: Defender for Business onboarding endpoint device Error id: 15 Error level: 1

Hi! I'm always getting this error onboarding endpoint device Error id: 15 error level: 1 The service name is invalidwhen trying to manually onboard a device to microsoft defender for business.

I need to onboard MAC Device in window defender.so please let me guide how can onboard..

Prerequisites1. Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM/Intune) tenant with MDM authority Set to Intune

• Apple Enrollment enabled and an Apple MDM Push certificate installed
  

2. Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MD ATP)

• Valid subscription and admin access to the new Microsoft 365 Defender (security.microsoft.com) portal or legacy Security Center (securitycenter.windows.com)
  
• Download macOS Onboarding package (XML file) from listed above Microsoft 365 Defender portal, under Settings - Endpoints - Device Management - Onboarding
  

3. Supported macOS devices

• The last three macOS releases are supported
  
• Support for macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later
  

4. Others

• Download PowerShell scripts to simplify the configuration of macOS Custom profiles
  
• Network connections required for Defender for Endpoint, review mdatp-urls.xlsx

Error: No work available to process

Hmm. Either it's put out errors and WCG is limiting the work units available, or the project list may not be set to supply other WU when one runs out. (if the problem lies here and not on your end)

On the options to your left, if you go into Results Status, select the computer from Device Name and then look through results see if either they were returned late, errors or any other kind of issue that would stop the servers supplying WU from that perspective.

If there are no errors then it's maybe down to your project list. So selecting Device Manager from the left menu and then clicking on the profile assigned to that computer and make sure that it's assigned to receive WU for other projects if they run out.

At least those steps will rule out problems from the WCG end.

 

How to onboard Windows 2008 R2 to Defender for Cloud ?

Hello community,

I was trying to onboard Windows 2008 R2 to Defender for Cloud via Azure Arc. On the docs sites, there's information that this version is supported and also, with Defender for Servers plan 2 you will get a licences for MDE (Microsoft Defender for Endpoint).

The onboarding was done but only MMA extension was installed but MDE extensions not which resulted in error saying "no supported version".

Does anybody met this issues before ? What's the way how to proceed with onboarding ? Maybe through SCEP ?
