Windows 10: Defender update download errors on both antivirus and antimalware

Ever since the latest update I got for my windows home version about a week ago I have been getting an error message 0x80070643. It first started on an update for the antimalware and now I am also getting the same message for the virus updates.

What good is using windows defender to protect my computer if when you make updates to the windows home version it screws up the virus protection.

Please let me know when you are going to fix this problem as soon as possible. I really don't want to have to restore my computer again to fix this problem. I lost all my information the last time one of your updates trashed my computer.

In Windows 10 version 1709, os build 16299.192, checking for updates shows a new update for the Windows Defender antimalware platform, to version 4.12.17007.18011







Installed without a problem, no restart required. Defender before updating...





After the update...





As with previous antimalware client updates, the update doesn't show in Update History. It can be seen in Reliability History.






Edit: 1st March - another update has been issued, version 4.12.17007.18022. Seems this is to be a regular monthly event.

How to manually download the latest version of Windows Defender antivirus antimalware client version?

I am aware that windows defender antivirus antimalware client version automatically download itself to the latest version as a part of windows updates. But i have paused windows updates for 35 days. Is there a way to manually download the latest antimalware
client version now?
