    Defender updates everyday, but not automatically. Internet and bluetooth issues while pending.


    I have everything set to automatic update. I have gone through numerous tutorials to be sure the settings are correct.Everyday while using my computer I will notice three things happen. The computer may act normally, and then I will notice a drop in CPU speed, hard drive speed, wifi speed, and bluetooth connection stutters. EVERY SINGLE TIME this happens I go to updates, it will show I am setup for automatic updates and that there are no pending updates, with the last update being the same or previous day. Once I click "check for updates" it will show there is a pending defender update, and be

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community.

    I appreciate your interest on Windows 10.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below:

    • Type defender in the search box.
    • Click on update.
    • Check for the date on which defender is being updated.
    • If the recent date is mentioned then it will not show in the Automatic Updates.
    • Also click on update definition and check if any update is pending.

    SEtting up automatic updates for windows defender on windows 8

    I have found this on the internet en have set up a task for automatic definitions update for Windows Defender but a window pops up when this starts to run.
    Is there a way to set this without any window popping up so that it just runs in the background?

    Now I'm using
    "C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe" -SignatureUpdate -MMPC
