Defer/uninstall an update after it's been installed but before restarting took place.

There are several ways to uninstall a win update, i.e.

    wusa /uninstall /kb:5000802

    Let's consider this scenario:

Automatic Updates downloaded and installed an update silently.

    That update needs restarting.

But the PC hasn't yet been restarted.

Is it possible to defer/uninstall this very update before restart?

    If so, how?

    :)

  2. How to defer updates/upgrades on Windows 10?

    Answer

I'm surprised that nobody in this discussion knows how to defer updates in Windows 10. I recently performed a clean install of Windows 10 in a VM and updated to the Anniversary Update before going back to Insider Preview.

The steps on how to defer updates for the
    Anniversary Update are:

Please refer to the following article:

    Defer upgrades

Anyone know of a place that list the new Windows features available?

"Some Windows 10 editions let you defer upgrades to your PC. When you defer upgrades, new Windows features won’t be downloaded or installed for several months. Deferring upgrades doesn’t affect security updates. Note that deferring upgrades will prevent
you from getting the latest Windows features as soon as they’re available."

  4. Defer/uninstall an update after it's been installed but before restarting took place.

How do you uninstall chipset drivers?

I'm installing a new mobo so I need to uninstall the intel 865g drivers to make way for the P35 drivers.

Can't find any uninstall options in add/remove programs and intel chipset inst listed in driver cleaner.

Any suggestions? *Confused Defer/uninstall an update after it's been installed but before restarting took place.
