  1. Degraded Performance of MS Access Runtime Application after January 2024 Patch Release

We have an application we distribute using the MS Access Runtime for Office 365 as a front-end application connecting to a MS-SQL backend Database. Since the patch release on Tuesday, we are seeing a growing number of customers experiencing serious performance issues. Using SQL Profiler, we are able to confirm the queries are processing very quickly by the SQL server, but it is painfully slow when rendering the results for users. We have a wide variety of users running on Windows 10 Pro, Windows 11 Pro, Server 2016, and Server 2019. Users still running on Server 2012 R2 version do not seem

  4. Degraded Performance of MS Access Runtime Application after January 2024 Patch Release

C++ Runtime Library runtime error / ms access

i've had a brother hydra for about 6 months. i've had ms office 365 for about a year. about 2 days i started getting error messages when scanning. the scanner software stopped sending files to ms photos (in office). the first error message said: the operating
system is not presently configured to run this application. i press ok, and the second message says: microsoft visual c++ runtime library runtime error! program: c:\program files (x86)\micros~2\office14\ois.exe this application has requested the runtime
to terminate it in an unusual way. please contact the applications's support team for more information.

when i use ms access in office 365, after i close the file, access would re-open automatically.

so i figured, there was a problem with office 365.

i reinstall office 365 three times in three different way. every time i try to open access, i get an error message: automatic configuration of the current version of microsoft access has failed. your database might not function correctly. this can occur
if you do not have the necessary permissions to install microsoft access on this computer. as always, microsoft error messages don't tell you anything.

i contact microsoft office support. they can't fix it. they say the scanner software corrupted the c++ runtime library and give me the number to ms windows support. of course, that number leads you to a service you have to pay for because microsoft
doesn't have confidence in the software you pay for (yes, i know, license).

i've spent a lot of money on microsoft and now i have 8 gigs of data i can't access because microsoft doesn't have confidence in their software.

    what do i do?
