Delay of Showing Text in Forms/Boxes and Switching Tabs in Any Browser

    Hello,
I have an Envy 15t notebook running Win 10 x64 with 1TB 5400 rpm HD. Everything is up-to-date; no virus or malware that I know of (keep Kaspersky up-to-date). I recently upgraded Kaspersky to 2017 with Secure Connection but the issue happens when Secure Connection is turned off and not running.

When I am on the Internet using either IE or Firefox, and I go to type into text boxes or forms, including new emails for Gmail or in social media boxes, my computer lags behind what I type and what gets displayed onto the screen. It is not in real time and very frustrating. It is intermittent but consistent. Most is displayed correctly but then portions (or strings) are not and then it suddenly "catches up" or in social media's case, parts of the portion are truncated.

Also, I have noticed that in Firefox when I go to switch from one tab to another there is a major delay. Doesn't happen so much in IE.

Another interesting phenomena is when I am writing a new Gmail message and paste some text into the box, the cursor appears at the end of the pasted string but is totally unresponsive when I continue typing. I have to use my mouse and 'click' at the end of the sentence before I continue on with my message.

This is a newer unit. I have tried troubleshooting with various tools but to no avail. I ran chkdsk but it didn't generate a report for me and it ran at start up. I have run a benchmark but do not know how to read it. I also have a Speecy report but I think it says everything is all right.

Before getting into the 'hardware" and "maintenance", I ran a lot of software tools for malware, etc. and nothing was found. I also double checked drivers for mousepad and it was up to date (re-installed just in case of corruption). I also checked the firmware and BIOS version. BIOS needed updating but the problems persist.

Hoping an experienced person can assist me here.

    :)

  2. Text size of tabs menus and message boxes now unreadable after update?

Since the latest update the text size on my tabs, menus and message boxes are ridiculously small and almost unreadable.

I can only find how to change everything by increasing font size to 125% but I do not want to change the text size of web pages that's fine as it is.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    thanks

  3. Text size of tabs menus and message boxes now unreadable after update?

Typing winver doesn't tell me anything but don't bother I have now downloaded a program which allows me to change the font size of everything just like before.

Hi, can you post a screenshot of your task manager when this is happening, with columns of interest organised with the processes using most resources at the top? (Click on the relevant tab to organise).

Similarly of your Resource Monitor (just type Resource in the search box).

Does the same happen after a clean boot?

This is all happening consistently but intermittingly that last only a few seconds long (then repeats when I type again). Not sure how I can be at two places at the same time to take screen shots.
It does happen after clean re-boot. I have also un-installed IE through Programs and Features and re-installed with same results.
I have included both screenshots for you anyway. One item I see I am worried about is the rpcnetp.exe (32-bit) process. There was a 'flag' through one of the security / maintenance programs a little while ago and I thought I deleted this issue. I see it is still running - or something like it or connected to it. Not sure what this process does exactly. I remember looking it up and not having any firm resolution about it, making it suspicious.
--->> When I tried to click on Advanced to attach these simple files, the system froze and Internet cable connection was cut off. Then, I experienced a BSOD - IRQC not equal or less than (error) or something along that nature.
After re-start, my Kaspersky brought to my attention it had failed earlier and wants to send in error reports. This is the new version of Kas 2017 Total.

HP Support solutions framework service? 42%? I'd suggest dealing with that. If it's HP stuff that came with your laptop you may well find it's of no real value.

Then Kaspersky is using a lot of CPU time too. That might be 'cos of the other activity..

You need to identify rpcnetp.exe - it's not on my PC.
(Rt click, properties, find out where it is, what it is, whose it is).
    Possibly:

If so, why so much CPU time?

You've a spike of disk activity which could slow things down.

I'm wondering if these shots were skewed due to system starting up? Let me run these again and post. I'll post something in a little while. Thank you!

One interesting finding. rpcnet (I show rpcnetp) may be related to Absolute's LoJack product. However, I have reloaded Windows since I had that product installed so I don't understand why I would have it now. I am going to do a little more research and return later with updated screenshots and information. Thank you!

I have found out that the rcpnetp.exe service does not have a description in Windows Processes Module. Additionally, when I try to go to properties, it is saying "the system cannot find the file specified."
    Any thoughts on this?

See this post for more. This is backing up what I said earlier about even formatting (or reloading Windows) did not get rid of this process (although I didn't know about it before).

    Thanks Dalchina,
I think my next move is to contact Computrace / Absolute / LoJack and find out what is going on exactly. Also my need to contact HP Support. I'll post back what I learn. Thanks again.
