Delay the problematic mandatory upgrade for a month?

Yes I do not want the new Windows 10 make upgrade until they fix the problems. I am on the road and do not have the time to be trying to fix it after it screws things up. I have disabled and it still starts up. I have prolonged it for a few days and it still appears it seems and when I catch it, it only gives me an hour. I see the value of upgrading but not when EVERYONE is having major problems. How can I delay it a month then revisit and see how it is doing?

    :)

    Recent upgrade is problematic

For the last couple months windows update has failed. Last time I waited two days and it always gets stuck round 80%. Now I'm getting this mandatory pop up to upgrade every week to no avail. I have never had this problem before. Is it microsoft or my
PC? Can we somehow opt out of this upgrade?

Delaying Windows 10 Upgrade installation for several months

Unfortunately hiding the upgrade only works if you haven't downloaded it; if you have already, it marks that as the default component to install every time you open Windows Update or scan for new updates again. You have to make sure you uncheck the upgrade
box in the list whenever installing other updates, or you may find yourself installing it early without realising...

Once again I am expressing my disdain for needing to dig into the Registry every time MS simply can't be bothered to provide more user-friendly solutions. In the GWX executable there should be an option by default to postpone it for a week, or even a month,
and then it should ask you if you want to postpone it again when the delay has passed.

    But you won't.

Delay the problematic mandatory upgrade for a month?

    Stuck in Windows 10 Upgrade

My computer seems to be stuck in a Windows 10 failed upgrade loop. I was running fine on a beta version of Windows 10, and then I came downstairs one morning to see it repeatedly booting, attempting to repair, then rebooting. The steps I've taken to diagnose are:

    • Attempting to boot off a USB drive (with all drives disabled in BIOS) - this fails at the point of the blue windows screen
    • Attempting to boot the machine itself and getting into "repair/safe mode" using F7
    • Looking at the BIOS for obvious failures (e.g. RAM that should be there is missing) - nothing obvious is wrong.

I am fairly certain the build version was 9926. For many months, the system would attempt to upgrade, and then say "it failed" for some reason and roll back.

    Suggestions for next steps?
