Delete a User Profile in C:\Users via Win10 cmd line

    Hey all,

I am trying to remove a user account from the Users folder. As it turns out, the command <net user 'user' /delete> does not remove the user profile in the Users folder as well.

Windows used to have the delprof and delprof 2 however I have read that they are finicky.

I found this script below however I cannot get it to delete the user profile

    set "LocalAccount=MyUser" for /f "tokens=*" %%i in ('"wmic useraccount where name=^'%LocalAccount%^' get sid | findstr S-1-5"') do set SidValue=%%i net user %LocalAccount% /del del C:\Users\%LocalAccount% /F /S /Q rd C:\Users\%LocalAccount% /S /Q reg delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\%SidValue%" /f

Thanks for any and all help.

  3. User Profiles not uploading at Start

    Hi Ernie,

Your computer might have experience a fresh start when the upgrade occurred last December 16, 2017, and the user profiles on it got affected as well. However, let us not jump into any conclusions yet until we isolated your concern. Let's see if we'll be
able to recover the missing user profile using a command line in command prompt.

    • Open CMD as Administrator.
    • Enter this command "net localgroup “Administrators” [Computer Name][Missing User] /add".
    • Once done, restart your computer.

You may also check if you'll see the missing user profile/s in Local User and Groups manager. Here are the steps on how to do so:

    • Press the Windows + R on your keyboard, then type in lusrmgr.msc.
    • Click on Users, then check if the missing user profile is on the right pane.

Let us know if the above steps worked.

    user profile Win10

You have to create a new user account with the new address, then move the data to the newer account and then delete older account.

    Step 1:

User Account - Add in Windows 10.

    http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5440-user-ac...

Make sure you change it to administrator account from Family and other users tab after creation.

Under other users>click the new account and change type to admin

    Step 2:

Log into the new user account. After doing that, type in folder options in search bar, then select file explorer options. Click the view tab and select 'show hidden files, folders and drivers'. Once you've selected that, click apply then ok.

Next, click the start menu and click computer. Double-click the hard drive (usually CDelete a User Profile in C:\Users via Win10 cmd line :) and from the folders that appear, click users. Select the name of your old user. Select EVERYTHING there, except for the following:

    Ntuser.dat

    Ntuser.dat.log

    Ntuser.ini

Right-click the folders you've selected and click copy. Once you've copied them, click the back icon and you should be returned to C:/users. Select your new user profile. Delete everything that's there, except for the three files which are listed in the bullet
    points above.

Once you've deleted everything, right-click and select paste. The folders you selected from your old user profile should now be in your new user profile.
