Windows 10: Delete folders in AppData > Local > Apps > 2.0

I have a Windows 10 PC that scammers have installed unattended remote access on using an app called ScreenConnect. I have found the location of the app: AppData > Local > Apps > 2.0 > Lots of folders containing ScreenConnect.Something files. There are no entries in Apps and Features or Control Panel to remove them. Can I safely stop the related service and delete these folders?I have contacted ScreenConnect but they have not responded!Thanks in advance, Sam.

0 byte folder cannot be deleted Problem

I have a 0 byte folder and I can't delete it. I'm using win 7 64 bit.
please help *Cry :cry:

It says access denied when trying, please login as admin blah blah msgs....

I've searched the net for hours, Trying unlocker, fileassassin, and all other 'file deleter' programs out there. tried on safe mode, tried the cmd commands, even in cmd it says access denied, tried the closing explorer.exe and doing the command. I tried changing permissions and atrributes and it says you do not have permission to view or edit this objects permission settings. I logged in as the Administrator and still no hope.

the folder originally contained all my movies but since then i moved(using the move command) all of them someplace else(on another hdd) and I thought it was gone but the folder is still there, 0 bytes. It was shared when i deleted it and still appeared on the shared folders list but inaccessible coz it was already deleted so i 'unshared' the folder from the shared folders list. and so the problem began. the folder is still there and it is undeletable

One surefire way to do it without deleting my files is copying all other files to another HDD and reformat it and copy it back again but my hdd is currently contains 1 tb out of 1.36 and i dont have any hdds with that free space to use.

ALSO I CAN'T OPEN THE FOLDER it says

Location is not available

'directory' is not accessible.
Access is Denied.

i think its more of a windows glitch than a virus problem

Trouble deleting a folder

Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

Can I delete \\AppDate\Local Folder?

Are you referring to :

Local Disk C : ( or the Drive Letter you use for your Local Disk ) / Users / Your Folder ( which generally has your name beside it and a locked symbol ) / AppData ( which is generally hidden ) / Local Folder ???

DO NOT DELETE !

I would suggest to run the Disk Cleanup Tool.

1. Go to the Start Orb.
2. Type in disk cleanup and press Enter Key.
3. It will begin to run.
4. After its done its first pass select : Clean up systems files Tab and select the OK Tab to run again.
5. ( As it runs watch closely if the Windows Update Cleanup presents itself as it is searching for what it can clean ).
6. ( It will also show the total amount of disk space you will gain ).
7. Once its done its pass select the : OK Tab to begin cleanup.

If you have installed any Software Products that you don`t use i would Uninstall them in the correct fashion by using Add or Remove Programs.

1. Go to the Start Orb.
2. Type in : add or remove programs and press Enter Key.
3. See if there are any Software Products that you have installed and don`t use.
4. If so Right Click on the ones you don`t use and select Uninstall.

SOME NOTES ON APP DATA.

What is the AppData folder? The AppData folder contains
application (app) settings, files, and data specific to the application (apps) on your Windows PC. The folder is hidden by default in Windows File Explorer, and has three hidden
sub-folders: Local, LocalLow, and Roaming.

So if you delete Appdata folder then it will cause
problem with application installed on the computer.
