Windows 10: delete / get out of family group

Hello All,it started when I tried to set the default for Edge to "InPrivate" ... somehting I've done many times.Here, on this machine, however, it won't let me "this computer is managed by a family group"All attempts, accourding to articles online ... sign in to family account ... remove yourself, etc. don't work.There are no options beside my name to removbe / no three dots.I don't even recall starting a family group nor attaching my self to one.I'm the only administrator and never set up a family when first starting this machine.Any suggestions to get out of this madness?Thanks

In all honesty, we would suggest that the fastest solution for you would be to re-register for a Microsoft account and then join your daughter's family group. That way you can get up and running with MICROSOFT365 as soon as possible.

Back to the family group issue, if you are the organizer of another family group, it would be a good idea to notify the other members of the group that the group needs to be disbanded, and then delete the other members in turn from the main family account screen. Finally, dissolve the family group.

If you are a member of a family, but not the organizer, you can leave the family group if you are an adult account, or if you are a minor, you will need to be removed from the family group by your organizer.

So, frankly speaking the family group feature is not perfect at the moment and sometimes the above steps may not be possible due to server logic. You may want to sign up for a new Microsoft account and wait until the family group feature is stabilized before joining your daughter's family group with your original account.

Delete family group:

I havea family group that appears to have me and an old link for my daughter in it. It won't let me delete myself or my daughter. I just want to delete the entire family group so that I can join my wife's family group (where she purchased a family subscription to 365) What should I do??

Leaving or being removed from a family group will not delete Microsoft accounts. However, family groups without an organizer and at least one other family member will be deleted.
