Windows 10: "Delete Previous version of Window?" Windows 10

I've just had this note in my Notifications:





This is the first time I've had this alert. I've checked my Windows C in "This PC" and it show that I have 17.4 GB free of 117 GB. I'd like to ask for advice on the following, please:


1. Am I every likely to need the previous version of Windows and how can I check how much space is taken by it?

2. I used to use Macrium Reflect until a year or two ago but it was too complicated and I had many problems with it so I uninstalled it. Are there similar alternative Apps available?

3. I've checked other areas on my laptop & see these:

Need I look anywhere else please?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Deleting previous versions of Windows 10 fails

I am trying to delete C:\Windows.old. I tried this: How to Delete an Old Windows Folder from Windows 10 but the option isn't listed. Then I tried this: Delete Your Previous Version of Windows, where there is the option to delete the previous versions but it doesn't work. I also tried this: How to Delete an Old Windows Folder Without Using a Disk using the command line but nothing again (it says access denied at step 5)... any other way?

 

Installing Windows 10 using Windows 7 key

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.
