Windows 10: delete System Volume Information

I cannot find the original post so excuse this new post. On April 29 jumanji showed a simple way to delete the C:\System Volume Information with WinRAR (illustrated below). Before I do this, I want to be sure it's ok. So I have 3 simple questions and 1 other one.

My computer runs Windows 10 ver 1903 Build 18362.476 and has just 1 drive. If I delete the System Volume Information directory from my C: drive, then restart the computer, will it rebuild itself? Will it be smaller than the current size? Will it hurt my other files on the computer in any way? My Sys Vol Info directory is 26 GB now and I see lots of the files are over a year old. I don't want to loose any data on my C drive. I just want some space back.

Looking through other posts, I saw one guy had a Sys Vol Info dir of 58 GB. I wonder how this directory is managed and why it can get so large? Shouldn't Windows take care to keep it a reasonable size?

Delete 250GB of SYSTEM VOLUME INFORMATION

Here you go:

• Turn off the System Restore facility.
• Open an elevated command prompt with cmd.exe.
• Type these commands::
  
  cd \ {Enter}
  
  takeown /F "System Volume Information" /R {Enter}
  
  cacls "System Volume Information" /T /G everyone:F {Enter}
  
  cd "System Volume Information" {Enter}
  
  attrib -s -h -r *.* {Enter}
• You can now delete all files whose names look like so:
  
  {63ae410a-f958-11e6-8f66-3052cb1e8be2}{3808876b-c176-4e48-b7ae-04046e6cc752}
  
  You do it like so:
  
  1. Type the letters del then press the Space bar.
  
  2. Press the Tab key until you see one of these files.
  
  3. Press the Enter key.
• Turn System Restore on again.

I suggest you to first stop Volume Shadow Copy service and try to remove the files and check. Follow the steps provided below:

Step 1: Stop Volume Shadow Copy service

• 
  Press Windows logo Key + R key.
  
• 
  Type services.msc.
  
• 
  Search for Volume Shadow Copy service.
  
• 
  Right click on it and select
  Stop.
  

Now, take ownership of the System volume Information folder and then try to delete its contents.

Step 2: File permissions.

• Right click on System volume Information folder.
• Select Properties.
• Go to Security tab.
• Select the user name.
• Click on Edit button.
• Under permission to Authenticated user, check on full control.
• Click on Apply and OK button.
