    Delete W7 from a dual boot with WX


    - My C is a 120 GB SSD with Windows 10.

    - My D, E, F are partitions on my 500 GB HDD.

    - On D (close to 100 GB) I have Windows 7, which I never use anymore (I never opened it in the last 12 months, maybe more), and I want to ged rid of it.

    - E (close to 100 GB) and F (the rest) are other two partitions in wich I store what I produce. (Which I never store on D).

    Questions:

    - Is it safe to format my D from This PC?

    - Even if it warns me that other programs are using it?

    - What would be the best option?

    dual boot? w7 and w 10


    hi, is it possible to dual boot w7 and w 10?. I'm currently running w7 and i got offer for w10 already, my question is it possible to dual boot it and i want genuine w10 as well. i tried use media creation control and windows update but both failed at step 3 (75% overall) and now i'm downloading ISO file to DVD. my HDD is 1T

    Upgrading possible ? Dual boot (XP-32 / W7-64) to (XP-32 / W10-64)

    Hi everybody,

    I have a dual boot PC with Windows XP (32 bits) and Windows 7 (64 bits), both installed on a 500 Go SSD.

    I have a 500 Go HDD for My documents, other data and games. Having two drives on a PC didn't cause any problem for upgrading W7 on another PC
    but there was no other OS.

    My 2nd PC is declared to be W10 compatible.

    The active partition is the one with XP. So the one with W7 is
    not active.

    My two questions :

    • Will the upgrade process be able to upgrade W7 even if it is not the active partition ?
    • Will XP and the dual boot persist ?
    Any experience with dual boot and W10 upgrading ?

    Delete W7 from a dual boot with WX

    Dual Booting with Windows 8.1


    The procedure below will allow you to boot Windows separately or in dual boot configuration.
    Here's what I recommend to do:
    1. Disconnect the drive containing Windows 8.1
    2. Install Windows 10 with one drive connected.
    3. After step 2, reconnect the drive containing Windows 8.1
    4. Boot up Windows 8.1. Open disk management and take a note of the drive letter of Windows 10 OS.
      NOTE: if you boot up Windows 10, then take a note of Windows 8.1 drive letter
    5. Open Admin command prompt and type: bcdboot X:\windows where X: is the drive letter of Windows 10 (Windows 8.1 if you boot from Windows 10 in step 4)
    6. Reboot the PC. You should have a dual boot screen.

    NOTE: To break off the dual boot setting, Win+R->msconfig->boot and delete the none default entry on the list.
