  1. Delete Windows family safety group altogether, or remove all members

I am unable to delete the family safety group I inadvertently added my family members to, meaning my children are now unable to use their computers for school. When trying to delete the members , I am told this cannot happen bc they are part of the consent. I can remove the consent, but still get the same error message. Sigh. Can someone help me along, or could someone at Microsoft delete the group for me, so my children can put their computers to use?

    :)

  2. Can't remove family members from family group

    Hey all,

I'm the organizer for my family group. I'm trying to remove one of the members of the family group, and it tells me "Family members under statutory age need an adult's consent to join a family group. Only the adult that granted consent for [Member] can remove this family member. Ask the family organizer who granted [Member] consent to remove [Member] from the family group."

I am the person who added this member to the group. I even checked on their profile, and it says I'm the organizer. Why can't I edit/remove this account?

  3. Family Organizer Leaving Family Group

    Hello Lee Wilfert,

Glad to see you in Microsoft Community.

    • If Mother was the administrator of the Family Group, you can exit the Family Group directly, and Mother will automatically become the Family Group organizer.

If you want to stay in the Family Group, you need to rejoin, either as an administrator or as a regular Family Group member.

Visit Getting started with Microsoft Family Safety for more details.
    • If Mother was already a member of the Family Group, you need to remove her from the Family Group, then add it again, and need to select "Administrator" when selecting the role.
Meanwhile, you can dissolve the Family Group, and then let the new organizer send an invitation to re-establish the Family Group. Visit Leave family group or remove members (microsoft.com) for more details.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

Delete Windows family safety group altogether, or remove all members

Please advise on what to do next as family safety account link cannot be deleted?

My daughters family safety account is no longer providing updates to us on any device she is using. I have read that it is worth deleting my daughters link to family safety and recreating it. I have tried to do this, but it tells me that only the person that created the account can delete the child from the family safety area. I am the one that created the accounts, so it should be allowing me to do this.

I have pasted the exact message in as can be seen here:

You can't remove XXXXX from the family group Family members under statutory age need an adult's consent to join a family group. Only the adult that granted consent for XXXXX can remove this family member. Ask the family organiser who granted XXXXX consent to remove XXXXX from the family group.

Please can you advise on next steps as this is a safety issue for my family.

Please see details of Windows version for our main PC,

    Edition Windows 11 Home

    Version 21H2

    Installed on ‎14/‎12/‎2021

    OS build 22000.1936

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22001.1000.0
