Windows 10: Deleted administrator privileges on my sole account

Hello windows community.

I have just migrated to windows, and I'm having a very frustrating problem that I am sure has a simple solution. Alas, I am confounded right now.


In account settings, I disabled my administrator privileges. I only have ONE account, and it is a user account. So, now I cannot perform any administrator tasks, and I CANNOT ACCESS the hidden admin account, even in command prompt. There is not even an option to enter a password for an admin account. Everywhere I go, access is denied.


How do I fix this folly....

Deleting User Accounts

Does anyone know how to delete an administrator account from another os on another partition (or using a live cd)?

I dont have access to the administrator account and i need to remove the other administrator account

Kindly follow the steps below to resolve this concern:

Step 1: Remove pin from your administrator account. Here's how:

• Log in the administrator account.
• Go to Settings.
• Select Accounts.
• Go to Sign-in options.
• Under PIN, click on Remove.
• Tap Remove to confirm.
• Type in your administrator password to verify.
• Hit OK.

Step 2: Make your local account as an administrator account by following the steps below:

• Log in your local account.
• Go to Settings.
• Select Accounts.
• Go to Family & other people.
• Select Change account type.
• Under Account type, select Administrator.
• Hit OK.
• Restart your computer and sign in with your administrator account.

Step 3: Remove the old administrator account. Please follow the steps below:

• Log in the new administrator account.
• Go to Settings.
• Select Accounts.
• Go to Family & other people.
• Click on the admin account you want to remove and hit Remove button.
• When you see a confirmation dialog, select Delete account and data.

Dell Touchpad uninstall administrator privileges

I would recommend you to see if you are logged in administrator account, if not then enable it. Please follow the below steps to enable:

Step 1: I would suggest you to enable the built-in administrator account.

You need to run the command from an elevated command prompt. To do that follow the below steps:

  This opens a list of options at the bottom. Select
