Windows 10: Deleted files on Desktop reappear again. Why?

I have this annoying problem (Windows 10 Pro, version 20H2, OS build 19042.630)

1. I create a file on the Desktop
2. I delete this file - file icon disappear immediately from the desktop upon deletion, as it should
3. I log out from windows
4. When I log back in to windows, the file icon appears again on the Desktop. It's not a real file, just the icon (trying to load it gets an error saying there is no file). The file icon also doesn't show on the desktop folder using explorer, it's just on the desktop itself
5. Once I press refresh (F5), the icon disappears (for good)

Anyone has a clue how I can solve this?

Reappearing files I deleted

I suggest you to follow the below steps to delete the folder and check if it's reappear.

• • 
    Open the Command prompt with admin (Windows +x and select Command prompt).
    
  • 
    In the command prompt, type the command below and press enter.
    
    NOTE: Substitute
    Full Path of Folder within quotes below with your folder's full path within quotes instead.
    
    RD /S /Q "Full Path of Folder".
    
  • 
    The folder should now be deleted.
    
  • 
    Close the command prompt.

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

Under what circumstances do the files reappear?

• After a reboot?
• At a fixed time?
• When you do something specific?
• At random?
