  1. Deleted home using registry editor and wanting quick access back

I was annoyed by home in file explorer so I searched online and deleted it using the steps, and I went to find quick access, but I've used all the possible steps and the quick access folder still didn't appear, I've tried to pin some folders to quick access but nothing happened, the next time I right-clicked the folder it didn't even say "unpin from quick access" I'm not sure if this was affected by me deleted home.

    :)

I followed this reply from user DaveM121 until step 3, then i decided that i don't want to change so i deleted the desktop file that I created on step 1 and closed the registry editor. The next day, when i open my computer i found out that i have two desktop on quick access, how do i change them back.

Quick Access not showing folders, Ribbon folder in registry editor does not exist?

I am having issues with Quick Access not showing Documents despite the correct address in Registry Editor for documents. I have probably tried every solution under the sun it feels, so I'm coming here so smarter individuals can help lol.

I've tried many solutions, such as this one: Solution 1

No issues were found on the scan and yes, I restarted to make sure the changes went through on these, even with registry.

Solution 2, which I was going to try but unfortunately, I hit rough patches.

I've tried to generally just enable and disable via option in the file explorer, that did not work. Recently files is on, I even cleared quick access to confirm that nothing is displaying and due to suggestion.

I tried deleting it from registry editor after, but there was no "Ribbon" folder in Explorer: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Ribbon" < Did not exist, even entering it into the bar to confirm.

I have tried checking if maybe I could delete it via command prompt but it said:
    "%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations\1c7a9be1b15a03ba.automaticDestinations-ms" did not exist.

    Quick Access bar

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

We would be glad to help you with the issue you are facing today. I understand the difficulty.

    Remove items from Quick access.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps.

    • Right click on the file or folder.
    • Select the option “unpin from the quick access”

To pin items to an item already on the quick access bar.

    Follow the below steps.

I would suggest you to create folder in the desktop screen & place all the files or folder which need to pin to the quick access.

    • Open the quick access.
    • Select the Desktop option.
    • Right click on the folder & select the option “pin to quick access”

Hope this helps in resolving the issue. If the issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist you.

    Thank you.
