Windows 10: Deleted my user inside of C:\Users\ and everything in my PC basically broke.

So, I was trying to move my files from one user profile to another one, I had copied all files inside the original user profile and already made the new one and when it was deleted, I put the files in new one but it didn't let me, I closed out of file explorer and my background wallpaper was all black, all files from there were gone, basically all files or folders had a blank icon instead of their normal icons, couldn't open anything anymore. Nothing's in the trash bin, I already tried to restore back to a point about a week ago and it restored some stuff but majority of my files are still unu

Deleting a user account leaves traces of that user behind in C:\users

1. Enable the built in Administrator account (Win+R->lusrmgr.msc)
   
   
   
2. Reboot and log in as Administrator
3. Delete the folder under C:\users

 

Can't delete a user folder from C:/Users

Descriptive:

I have a folder that might be a old user from old Windows 10, now I'm using Windows 11. I want to delete that folder but it always return an error like "You required permission from USER/Administrator", meanwhile the current user I'm using setted up as Administrator and I have no other user. I'm trying to delete it through administrator using "net user Administrator /active:yes" but I forgot the password so I can't log in into it. This user folder taking up so much space in my disk and I want to delete it

Question:

How to delete user folder from C:/Users that the user is don't exist / unanvailable / deleted?

Update:

• I'm able to change Administrator password, log in into it then tried to delete the folder of a user in C:/Users but still failed. It still asking a permission from an administrator which it really don't exist in this PC

Hi Tin,

I have followed GM instructions in Registry Editor up to step "Click on the Long String numbers to find the unwanted User Profile under Profile Image Path, right click to Delete that Long String." However, the only users listed are the ones I want to keep being C:\Users\AdminOnly & C\Users\Konrad.
