  1. Deleted Operating System appearing in Boot Menu.

I had a dual boot PC with Windows 10 and Windows 7 installed. Recently I felt that I no longer require Windows 7 so thought of deleting it. I deleted Windows 7 from System Configuration and then formatted the partition containing Win 7. However, now I am noticing that the Startup tab in System Configuration shows Selective Startup instead of Normal Startup. And when I tried changing it to Normal Startup I found Windows 7 appearing in the Boot menu under the Boot tab, although I no longer have Windows 7. How do I fix this?

    :)

  2. error loading operating system.

    Hi Ibrahim,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to check if you are able to boot the computer into Safe Mode environment.

To use a Safe Boot option, follow these steps:

    • Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.

    • Select an option to “Safe mode with networking” using the arrow keys on the keyboard when the Windows Advanced Options menu
      appears, and then press ENTER.
Also, try updating your BIOS drivers and check.

Hope it helps. Do let us know if your issue is resolved. For any further query, feel free to contact us.

    Thank you.

  3. No startup boot menu

    Hello Kimoefat,

Thank you for posting your concern in Microsoft Community and welcome to the Windows 10 Family.

As an initial recommendation, I would suggest you to access the System configuration utility and check if the Operating System installation path for Ubuntu exists. To do so, follow the below steps.

    • Type msconfig in the search bar and select System Configuration from the search results.
    • Select the boot tab in the System configuration console to check if the installation path for Ubuntu exists.
If it exists, next logical step is to check if the boot menu time out has been set to 0, which results in Boot menu not showing up.

The boot menu time-out determines how long the boot menu is displayed before the default boot entry is loaded. It is calibrated in seconds. To change the boot menu time-out, use the Bootcfg
/timeout switch. Valid values are from 0 through 999. You cannot use Bootcfg to set an indefinite time-out.

You can run the following Run command line to set the boot menu time-out accordingly. To do so, follow the below steps.

    • Press Windows key + X, select
Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt

    • Type in the following command: bootcfg /timeout 10

      timeout 10
will set the time frame to 10 seconds
However, if the Boot path for Ubuntu does not exist in the boot menu of System Configuration utility, I would suggest you to check if the Ubuntu is overridden by the Windows installation or if the Ubuntu installation files are corrupted.

Hope the above information is helpful. If you need further information, feel free to write to us and we would be happy to help you.

    Thank You.

And you don't want to see this menu again, right?

    if so there's two ways.

One is to hide the Window, but it will remain hidden even if you install another OS:

Right Click "My Computer" > Properties > Advanced System Settings > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > Uncheck the "Time to Display list of Operating Systems", and click OK.

The other solution is to remove the old entry from the BootMenu:

Download and Install EasyBCD Beta 64 with Win7 Support.

Run EasyBCD > Add/Remove Entries > Manage Existing Entries > Remove the ones you don't want > Click Save.

    That's it.
