Windows 10: deleted SEARCH

I accidentally deleted the SEARCH icon from my task bar and I can't get it back. What is the secret?

Delete search items

I have gone to HKEY-CURRENT-USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENT PLUS AND DO NOT FIND WORDWHEELQUARY.

So I can not delete my search item information in internet explorer 11. Can any one help me ?

John, did you make registry changes before it disappeared? Did you make any changes to your location or region?

 

No changes that I am aware of. I was trying to find a file and noticed SEARCH was gone.

 

Sounds like you may have done this,





Search Icon or Box - Show or Remove on Windows 10 Taskbar - Windows 10 Forums

Try checking one of the correct options to bring it back. (Right click on the taskbar> check the appropriate option)

 

Try this:

Right click the taskbar
select show Search

 

You may even find it more convenient not to have Cortana's search on your taskbar. You can launch Cortana via
Windows key + S, Windows key + Q - & Windows key + C (when Cortana is fully set up)

 

....or

WinKey - then just type your query
There's no input box until you start typing

It takes a bit to break habit, but give it a shot
