    I have two PC's that use Win10. One is a desktop gaming PC, the other is a laptop that I don't play games on.


    Recently on my gaming PC I saw a fair number of shortcut icons were in the Trash. Some were of games I play, others were shortcuts to Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook I have an Office 365 subscription. How they ended up in the Trash I didn't know. So I restored them to the gaming PC desktop. On the laptop, those same icons appeared on its desktop. Some were shortcuts to games which are not on the laptop. If I delete those icons on the laptop, the corresponding icons on my gaming PC end up in the trash.


    I've switched both PC's to local accounts. Neither is on a network with the other. I also removed my gaming PC from my Microsoft Account.


    When I start either computer I do not log into a Microsoft account; the two computers just start up. I can't figure out why these two PC's seem to be 'connected'. Can someone please help?

    Remove Linux Desktop Icons

    I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

    Removing desktop icons

    I want to remove some Icons from my desktop, but Vista asks for Admin permission to continue (I'm not an admin *Frown Deleting desktop icons on one PC is causing same icons on the other PC to end up in the trash :( ).
    It seems that whenever I delete one of these icons from my desktop, it is also removed from all the other user accounts. For example, I deleted the Skype icon from my desktop, and it was then removed from everyone elses as well.
    How can I delete icons from my desktop only, without affecting anyone elses?

    Removing desktop icons

    the icons are located in 'all users' folder somewhere (for example, i see a few shared icons in "C:\Users\Public\Desktop" )

    The only way to fix those, is to remove the icons from there, and place them on to each users desktops manually. an admin may need to do this.
