    Deleting multiple printer installations


    My Windows 10 has accumulated multiple instances of the same two printer installations. Some are named copy 1, copy 2, etc. One is greyed out. One, the only install of that printer shown in Devices and Printers is actually labeled Copy 1.


    Is there any way to clean up this mess without deleting the actual installation that controls the printers?

    Two steps:

    1. Start button (lower left)
    2. Devices and Printers
    3. Right-click on the printer you want to delete
    4. Choose Remove device

    1. Start button (lower left)
    2. Control Panel
    3. Uninstall a program
    4. Find your printer (there may be multiple entries)
    5. Click once on each, then Click uninstall on the top header

    In "Devices and Printers," I have ended up with multiples with the same name. How do I delete the duplicates from the dropdown list? Thank you.
