    Deleting old 32-bit Skype installed by accident.


    Due to some major hard drive issues I had to factory reset my laptop about two weeks ago. Not realizing Skype comes installed on Windows 10, I installed a 32-bit version of Skype. These files are causing Skype to use a ton of my memory (1.3GB or more at times, even more than Firefox). I CANNOT remove them, even with TakeOwnership. Help!

    Microsoft Skype (32 bit) high CPU usage - despite not having Skype installed!

    Eggy, as mentioned, I'm blind and your several steps were both concise and they worked. Thanks much. The Microsoft skype 32 bit vanished from my task manager ... finally.

    I accidently installed Windows 10 64-bit instead of the 32-bit

    I have accidently installed the 64-bit instead of the 32-bit. I think that my computer can't handle it because there is a big lag and my computer seems to run just so much slower now. Is this wrong? Or maybe I need to do something I haven't done yet.
    Please help me. TIA

    Microsoft Skype 32 bit running

    Approx after 30 minutes my new Dell E7450 i7 laptop boots Windows 10 the process "Microsoft Skype (32 bit)" causes >35% CPU utilisation and 95% of HDD activity. My HDD LED looks like the disk is thrashing. After a couple of minutes of this high activity
    the laptop fans come on full speed. This runs for ~5-8 minutes and if I terminate the process it just kicks straight back in.

    I don't have Skype installed, only Skype for business which was installed as part of Office 365 Cloud installation.

    Skype for business does not automatically start with Windows and its not running when this issue occurs.

    I also have Windows 10 64 bit installed, so why is this process 32 bit?

    Other people in numerous forums have the same issue.
