  1. Deleting windows files from old OS disk leads to Access Denied

I recently bought a nvme ssd and migrated my os there. I wanted to delete the windows o OS files from my old drive but it denies me access. I tried changing ownership but it still kept on denying me access. I don't want to format the drive because there are important files in it, and I can't transfer them to another drive because I don't have another storage drive.

    :)

    Denied access to files

Yeah, that's "fun". Installed Vista on another HDD and it wouldn't let me delete the old one in the other, just access is denied. Changing the owners wasn't enough tho, had to do that, inherit all the rights from parent folder and then give full rights to my self on that folder *Smile Deleting windows files from old OS disk leads to Access Denied :)

    Denied Access to delete files

Thanks for suggestions. I tried AVG Remover but it found nothing; probably because I had already deleted the bulk of the files. I also tried Command and Safe Mode but both gave Denied message. So the question remains how do I get access to delete files? Would changing to MS login at Start help?

    Denied access to files

Ok I got a pc in from a friend and he wants me to fix it, it doesn't boot up properly so I was thinking reinstall windows but first I have to save all his songs and crap. First problem it denies me access to the files on his HDD when it is hooked up to my pc .... damn. Second problem is that it is a very, very old pc nforce 2 chipset and I can't ID the board so I can't get the drivers. It won't turn on so I can't check it that way any ideas.
