    Deletion of Quarantined Virus!


    How can I remove a quarantined virus from my laptop! I got the MS Office 2016 version pirated form and now my windows defender detects hacktool win as a virus and threat? I quarantined the virus so where do I locate the virus so I can delete it permanently? Please help!

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community. I understand the inconvenience you are facing. I apologies for delay in response. I will certainly help you with this.

    I understand you need to delete virus created junk folder (Quarantined items).

    Quarantined items are those items that were prevented from running but were not removed from your PC. I suggest you to follow the below given steps and check if it works:

    • Press Windows key and type Windows Defender and hit enter.
    • Click on History tab in Windows Defender Window.
    • Click on the Quarantined items radio button and click on history.
    • Check and select all the items that appear as junk.
    • Click on Remove button to delete them permanently.
    • Check and verify if all the junk folders and files are remove.

    Unable to remove or quarantine Virus Threat

    Ran a virus scan with defend and 3 threats were detected, however when I went to have them removed nothing happened, tried to quarantine them and again nothing happened any suggestions on how to eliminate these threats. The threats are PUA:Win32/SweetIM
    PUA:Win32/Visicom and PUA:Win32/AskToolbar

    Deletion of Quarantined Virus!

    Windows Defender is missing Restore Button for Quarantined Threats

    It wasn't listed under "Quarantined Threats", but was listed in "See full history" as quarantined. It has been about 2 hours
    and now it is listed under "Quarantined Threats" which now shows the Restore or Delete options. Something must be causing
    a delay in listing the quarantined file under "Quarantined Threats" after they have been found and quarantined by Defender.
