Windows 10: dell 5280 battery hours compliment

i have a dell e6330 and i recently bought a dell 5280 , the battery hours on the 5280 are insanely long compared to the e6330 my only regret is the 5280 has a ssd which i have read has a smaller life span compared to a sata hd ?

Battery Won't Charge Fully

Make sure to install all Windows important updates.

Install latest versions of your laptop device drivers you can download the latest device drivers from the device manufacturer or from your laptop manufacturer website.


Step 1

1. Shutdown your laptop.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Connect the AC power adapter to your laptop.

4. Power on the laptop

5. Open the Device Manager by typing Devmgmt.msc into Start Menu or from Control Panel.

6. Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall (it’s ok if you only have 1).





7. Shutdown the laptop.

8. Insert the battery.

9. Power on the laptop.

If above suggestions wont resolve the battery charge issue then follow below steps.




Step 2

1. Shutdown the laptop.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Start the laptop with only AC adapter connected to laptop.

4. When you login to Windows OS connect the battery while Windows OS working.





Step 3

Reset the System Management Controller. Use one of these methods to reset the SMC, which controls battery management, battery status light.

1. Shut down the computer and disconnect the power cord.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Press and hold the power button for ten seconds.

4. Reattach the battery and AC power adapter, then start up the laptop.


Hopefully one of the above suggestions will help you resolve the battery not charging problem. If battery still doesn't charge, you may need to replace your battery.

 

Dell 7532 Battery will not charge. bought new battery same thing

• Go to Control Panel - Device Manager
• Expand the Batteries section
• Right click the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and select Uninstall
• Close Device Manager and Reboot

If the above does not work, then it is probably the power lead (adapter). Dell systems are very particular, if it detects the wrong adapter it will not charge the battery. This can happen in error even when the correct power adapter is connected, please
try the solution below:

• Unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet
• Disconnect any external peripherals connected to the Laptop
• Remove the battery. Refer to the User Manual of the Laptop for instructions on how to remove the battery.
  
  If the Dell laptop has a non-removable battery, skip this step
• Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds to drain a residual power from the Laptop
• Connect the battery
• Plug the AC adapter to the Laptop
• Turn on the Laptop

I faced a similar problem hunting for a battery for my Dell Inspiron 7779. I looked into several potential suppliers but they all seemed dodgy [many of them were the subject of online complaints and suggestions that they were just scammers].

I waited until I found Amazon offering a genuine Dell battery that was supplied by an Amazon marketplace seller but, crucially, that was 'Fufilled by Amazon' so that I knew I would have somebody to seek redress from if it went wrong during its first year. That battery has proved to be a good one but I could not know that in advance.

Like your Dell Inspiron 7537, my Dell Inspiron 7779 has an internal battery so the 'normal' replacement battery suppliers do not hold genuine Dell batteries for it in stock [and Dell don't condescend to do so either].
