    Hello,My company just upgraded me to this new laptop. With my old work laptop Dell 7530 from 2018 8th gen i7, I had no issues with audio via HDMI. My connection for audio is as follows which is the same as my old work laptop:Laptop -> Dell WD19 Dock -> HDMI cable to Dell S2421HGF -> Headphone output to Creative Pebble SpeakerDriver Details All are up-to-date as of 10/28/2022Display: Intel Iris XE Graphics 31.0.101.3251Monitor: Dell S2421HGF Audio: Realtek Audio 6.0.9376.1HD Audio Driver for Display Audio 31.0.101.3251BIOS: 1.8.0The issue is, for short burst of sounds like IM,

    Hi Pankish,

    It seems that the issue is due to incorrect audio settings. For help fixing audio or sound problems, try the audio troubleshooter.
    It might be able to fix audio problems automatically.

    Additionally, we suggest that check your audio settings. Make sure that your HDMI TV is set as your default sound device. Here are the steps:

    • Click Start and in the Search box, type
      Sound      .
    • From the search results, click the Sound option.
    • Under the Playback tab, click Speakers
    • Click Set Default at the bottom.
    • Click Apply and OK to save the settings.

    Even i have installed High defination Audio Driver.

    Audio problem on Dell computer

    @Stu - thanks for the detailed steps. I followed these last night and audio worked perfectly on my Samsung HDTV monitor. However, this morning audio is gone again, and performing the same steps again (even though the settings were already correct) doesn't
    restore audio.

    The only audio options that work for me after the upgrade to Windows 10 are: (1) headphones in the analog audio jack, or (2) external speakers connected to the rear panel. Sound from the connected monitor are not really working.

    I'm so confused as to who is actually controlling the audio - there are:

    • DELL Audio drivers for the Inspiron PC
    • Intel Audio drivers
    • Realtek Audio drivers
    • Microsoft Audio drivers (?)
    No wonder there's a problem...seems to me they are fighting for control of the audio device!
