Windows 10: DELL 968 AIO - Communication not available with computer

I down loaded Windows 10 PRO two days ago upgrading from Windows 7 PRO which was running fine. I made no changes what so ever and now I cannot get the printer or FAX to communicate with the computer. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Upgrade end of July to windows 10 and discovered dell 968 printer won't work.

There are no Dell drivers for Win 10 for the Dell AIO 968 is the problem They suggest using the old drivers. I tried to reinstall 7 drivers but still won't communicate. Tried stopping spooler, uninstall, reinstall etc. Some people are successful others
not. Any new ideas?

This is what I did: I went to settings - the icon looks like a gear wheel. I clicked on Devices and my printers were shown here. I clicked on Dell 968 AIO Printer then clicked on Remove Device

And after the printer in removed I did not do anything. I had already tried everything with no luck

The next time my computer was restarted it found the Dell 968 Printer and installed it and it works fine now.

Be sure that your printer is plugged into you computer

Yes. Goto the manufactures web site for your printer and download windows 10 drivers and run the install. Do the same for the modem that you were using for fax, and make sure it shows up in the device manager without a yellow exclamation point, and then make sure the Windows Fax software is installed.

 

I did that already and Dell says that the Printer Driver for the 968 AIO is NOT SUPPORTED for Windows 10 along with approximately 95% of their Printer Drivers. Thanks for the suggestion though.
