Windows 10: Dell connect and download

I have a new Dell that came out of the box with problems. I finally got the laptop to startup normally and stop shutting down randomly with errors but it takes many minutes for it to connect to any wireless internet and about 10/15 minutes to load up the first page. It's an all day/multiday process if i download a new application microsoft office, audible, itunes, whatever when many starts and stops and uninstalls and reinstalls, nothing is easy. My biggest issue right now is that I need Adobe Connect for school and I have the same issues happening, except it'll download it but go no further than the white screen. Have gone through the same process of uninstalling and trying and trying and trying. My other computers were Toshiba Satellites that I never had issues with but this is my second Dell with out of the box issues that I want to smash to pieces

How to Dump Networking Parameters?


Had a customer with this problem, they had a brand new Dell Optiplex 3050, with Windows 10 1709, and Realtek Gbit Family of lan adapters (wired connection). After much troubleshooting (many suggestions listed in the course of this thread), it turned out the PC needed a bios update. Among the updates listed on the dell website for bios version 1.52 (I flashed it with the latest 1.92) was "Update RealtekLOM".

LOM is "lan on motherboard" and the Realtek has flashable firmware.

One step for others having this issue is to check their computer manufacturer's website for "Lom" firmware updates for the particular network adapter - whether integrated or an add-in.

 

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

 

Dell Precision 5820 no network connection

Hello together,

we have some Dell Precision 5820 clients, that we must migrate to Windows 10.

We are installing our clients with a unattended.xml file and joining directly during the unattend phase to our domain. The Windows PE phase are working very fine, the Windows installation and Domain Join also. But when there is coming the first logon screen,
the client have no network connection.

We have also some other 1.000 Dell clients (other models), that have not the problem. This is only on all Dell Precision 5820 clients.

When is working:

• When we let the client join a workgroup, then the client have a network connection. When we switch to the domain, the network is working also. If we rebooting 3 -5 the client, we have again our problem.
• Reboot the client with no network cabel and plug in few seconds later, after the client is started, the cabel. The client will become a IP address.
• The IP address will receive from our DHCP server.

I have testet the following steps, but nothing from there fixed the problem.

• Testet the original Intel network driver
• The latest Dell network driver
• Domain Join to a extra OU in the AD, with block inheritance GPO
• Disabled some speed options in the BIOS for performance (only 1 core, disable Intel SpeedStep)
• Reservation on the DHCP server
• Fixed IP address
• Plugin the Client to a DSL AVM FritzBox, but the same problem to receive a address via DHCP.
• Analysed on the client via Wireshard, there is only a DHCP discover.

Any suggestions what we can analyse?
