Windows 10: Dell G7 Gaming Laptop - Audio has been broken for over a year.

The auxiliary cord and the speakers are completely unresponsive. I've troubleshooted this issue for hours on end previously, but have found absolutely no fix to it. I've tried to rollback drivers, update drivers, and every response I can think of that would've originally been put on this post, I've tried. The only way I'm able to hear audio and input audio into the device is through Bluetooth and my monitor's audio.

Dell G7 15 gaming laptop no audio

To elaborate on the title i recently bought the dell G7 gaming laptop and once i updated everything that needed to be updated windows, dell stuff etc. I installedy gaming headsets 7.1 surround sound software (razer kraken). Now the bios updated as it
needed to according to the update and what use to happen was i could select the audio output (7.1 speakers, speakers, etc) but now the only option is the 7.1 surround sound and even when i put my headphones in no audio comes out. I uninstalled the 7.1 software
and driver then i had no audio output option at all even though relateck, nvidia and all the other software that was on there before was enabled as if i just got it new (red circle on audio). So i reinstalled it then i had the opportunity to select audio and
everything else but still no audio output. So i completely wiped and factory reset my pc 3 times fresh install of windows etc. Only option is 7.1 and still no audio output. Is there anything else i can do i mean i have been on the fourms and help guides how
toos. Through all the run (systemctrl, etc) and resets and starts. So to sum it all up the razer razer headphones are the default audio device no matter what and will not output any sound and i cannot get the original defaults to work without it killing the
audio completely. Bios reset computer reset nothing gets rid of it. Usb audio works but this is not a fix

 

No internet on dell - g7 laptop running windows 10

When I saw the message on my laptop saying "no internet" I called Optimum. They did something and asked if I had connections now. I was on a different laptop and I saw that it did have connectivity but my Dell - G7 still does not. Using troubleshooting on the Dell, the error message said "turn on Wi-Fi". I turned it on but it turned itself off as soon as I tried to use it. Wi-Fi will not stay on. Wi-Fi is available for all my other devices. The laptop is 6 months old and had internet connection until yesterday. I called Dell and they took control of my system and ran diagnostics and found no problem. They are suggesting it could be a software problem that is not covered by the warranty and want me to send it to them (in India?) for a fee. Does anybody have any other suggestions. Please provide me with any and all advice you may have. Thank you in advance to all who read this and try to help me.

Hi MichaO..

1. Run Troubleshooter

Windows Key+i > Update & security > Troubleshoot > Playing Audio > Run the troubleshooter

2. Take actions related to Audio Driver

Windows Key+X > Device Manager > View tab > Show hidden devices > Sound, Video & game controllers > Right Click on the entry below (if more than one, then you will have to repeat the steps for all) > Properties > Driver Tab >

A. Roll Back - If Roll back driver is enabled, roll it back

B. Update - Update driver

C. Download and reinstall the driver from computer manufacturer's website - If you face issue, let me know your computer make and model?

3. Check if Windows Audio service is running or not

Windows Key+R > Type services.msc > Scroll down to Windows Audio > Change the startup type to Automatic > Restart computer

4. Check Speaker / headphone is not disabled and is set as default

Type Sound in Windows Start Seach box > Click Sound > Under Playback tab, right click on an empty space and select, Show disconnected devices and Show disabled devices > Select Speaker and click on Properties and make sure that it is is enabled > You may also
check if the Speaker that you are using is set as default.

Please report back me the results so that I can advise further steps if your problem is not solved.
