  1. Dell insists I need a new touchscreen and I insist my issue is caused by Windows10

A couple of months ago, after letting Dell re-install Windows10 because after they replaced the motherboard, the next morning there was "no boot device found." Soon after that, I experienced the dreaded ghost finger swiping all over the left side of my laptops screen and making selections on it's own.

Did some research and managed to get it to go away. Re-calibrated screen, searched for updated drivers, etc.

Except for something really strange gong on with my HID-compliant touchscreen. Every time I bring it out of sleep mode or reboot, the little notification box on the lower tool bar shakes back and forth. Like it is trying to load something but can't. The time and date are fine. But the entire touchscreen won't function.

Usually, when I go into Device Manager, the HID-compliant touchscreen has disappeared from the list and I have to look in View for Show Hidden Devices to get it back, but the touchscreen still won't be working. When I look in Properties it often says : Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.

But then suddenly, seconds later it will say: This device is working properly Whether is or isn't.

It usually still isn't. Until I Disable Device and then re-enable the device. Then everything is usually fine until I once again have to bring it out of sleep mode or reboot.

The laptop is still under warranty and Dell is insisting that I need an entire new screen, because they don't know Windows10 and my warranty only covers hardware, not software. Yesterday a tech came out to replace the screen, but they had sent him the wrong one. I showed him the shaking notification area of the task bar and he is the one who said it looks like it is trying to load something but can't.

Now I am waiting for another tech to come out with the correct screen. But I really don't think it is going to solve my problem. I think it is a software issue and I have searched and searched for weeks for answers to why this is happening and how to fix it. I use this computer all day every day for my business and education and I really do not want to send it back to Dell again.

Anyone have any clues!?? I have a video of the shaking portion of the lower task bar if that will help...
