    Dell insp. 3558 won't boot, recover, or reload new install (Win10)


    Got blue screen using edge (whole different issue). No longer able to boot. Get to preparing automatic repair message but then goes dark screen. Tried using recovery disk I made when I got laptop. Also tried making new one from Dell link. Tried secure and legacy boot. Only get to windows symbol then spinning dots then black screen. Finally made new Win10 install from Microsoft site but same thing happens, window symbol, spinning dots, then black screen. Let the laptop stay on black screen over night just to make sure I was giving it enough time. Gone through all the diagnostics. All the hardware tested good. Has all the latest updates. Is this a problem in the boot? Is this fixable? This doesn't look like replacing the hard drive will do anything.

    Maybe I Install a Windows 7 again, At least, all of my games run smoothly ...Sadness!!

    IE11 Win10 Home, Continuously reloading any New Tab

    On about 8/8/2018, IE11 could no longer add New Tabs (Ctrl-t or clicking on the convenient icon).



    Once Ctrl-t is entered, the New Tab appears but entries can't be made in the search bar, since the page continuously updates (flickering refresh button at about 2 times per second). I can make entries into the address bar however, including search terms.

    Attempts to diagnose and fix:

    1. Cycled through the Add-on's .. enabling and disabling each in turn, and reloading IE between each setting ... without effecting the problem
    2. Changed Internet Options --> Security Settings --> Custom Settings to disable Meta Refresh in each zone... no help there.
    3. "Microsoft OneDrive" and "Movies & TV" were both installed (by windows update??) around this same time, according to About This PC--> Apps & features --> Sort by Install Date.

    Does the community have any other suggestions to try?

    Volume Mute Light won´t change color


    Macrium is used frequently in this forum. There are experts in using it to recover drives. It's unclear as to why you are struggling to use it. I had not used it and just tried it for the first time and it went smoothly. Maybe these images might help?
