    Dell Inspiron not recognising a Dell battery


    Why has my Dell Inspiron suddenly decided to regard my adapter as 'unknown', when it has been working well for years? The laptop works fine on mains electricity, apart from not charging either of my two interchangeable batteries.

    Yes you need the new dell inspiron 1501 battery for the laptop,when you select the battery, Be careful about the warranty and battery cells.number and capacity of each battery cell affect battery life a lot, the power supply should be the standard one meet your original adapter's specs.

    I faced a similar problem hunting for a battery for my Dell Inspiron 7779. I looked into several potential suppliers but they all seemed dodgy [many of them were the subject of online complaints and suggestions that they were just scammers].

    I waited until I found Amazon offering a genuine Dell battery that was supplied by an Amazon marketplace seller but, crucially, that was 'Fufilled by Amazon' so that I knew I would have somebody to seek redress from if it went wrong during its first year. That battery has proved to be a good one but I could not know that in advance.

    Like your Dell Inspiron 7537, my Dell Inspiron 7779 has an internal battery so the 'normal' replacement battery suppliers do not hold genuine Dell batteries for it in stock [and Dell don't condescend to do so either].
