Windows 10: Dell Inspiron13 5310 with i3-1125G4 cannot upgrade to Windows11

The processor clock speed is the only requirement that this laptop doesn't meet. However the processor model, Intel i3-1125G4, is on the support list for Windows 11. The processor is recognized as "11th Gen IntelR CoreTM i3-1125G4 @ 2.00GHz 883 MHz" in Windows 10, while that said "883MHz" is this CPU's TDP-down Frequency. I have no idea why Windows would compare a TDP-down Frequency with Windows 11 requirement. Please fix this.

Intel Gives Core i3 and Core i5 Dual-Core Processors K0 Stepping Update

Intel is giving some existing 32 nm "Clarkdale" based Core i3 and Core i5 processors an update. The processors will transition to the new K0 stepping from the existing C2 stepping. The parts that will be made on the K0 silicon are Core i3 models 530 (new sSPEC: SLBX7), 540 (new sSPEC: SLBTD) and Core i5 models 650 (new sSPEC: SLBTJ), 660/661 (SLBTK/SLBTB), 670 (SLBTL). Newer and upcoming models such as the i3-550, i3-560, i5-665K, and i5-680 are already being built on the K0 stepping die. Motherboards will require a BIOS update to support the new K0 stepping processors.

The K0 stepping change includes the following highlights:

• New S-spec and MM numbers for the converting products
• Extended CPUID will change from 0x00020652 to 0x00020655
• Host RevID will change from 0x12 to 0x18
• K0 stepping package is pin compatible with C2 stepping package
• Adds Processor Context ID (PCID) support

The revised older SKUs that are built on K0 stepping will be market-available by October 16.

 

Dell laptop with i3 and 1511 - OS Upgradeable?

I worked on a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series (i3) laptop yesterday. I notice it has the original Win 10 V1511 that it came with when new and has never been upgraded to later Win 10 versions. I did search for updates and it found some but never offered a Win 10 OS upgrade. I considered manually upgrading it but the user needed the PC for some Excel work so I didn't try anything.

Should a later Win 10 version been offered via the updates? Or is the hardware preventing upgrading?

 

Mac and 5310 - How to sync only some contacts

Anyone know why the 5310 sync EVERY contact in the mac?

My problem is that in iSync I choose the contact lists I want synced (one of about twelve contact lists I have on the Mac) but the 5310 sucks ALL 470+ contacts in. Not what I need to stay organized.



I want to sync only a single list to the phone. Any suggestions?
