Windows 10: Dell l322x HD4000 display res fell to 768 from 1080 during browsing

Win 10 pro, Dell ls322x, i7, 8gb ram, 80gb msata, HD4000
Strange one for me this.
was running great on 1080, then after 30+mins of browsing, res dropped to 768
display settings shows 768 (recommended settings) and won't let me switch up to 1080
I can attach my monitor for extended display and that's 1080
updated bios from A06 to A10, no change
updated driver for video and chipset, no change

Any ideas please?

Duplicate two displays.

I wish to setup duplicate display on two different size and make of monitors on my PC running W10 pro.

My main monitor looks good with 1920 X 1080 display.

2nd monitor looks good with 1024 X 768

But when I change to duplicate display on my two monitors it sets the display as 1024 x 768 on both monitors.

I cannot find any way to change this, my main monitor is no good at that resolution!

When I change the display back to extended display the monitors revert back to 1920 X 1080 & 1024 X 768.

Any thought how I might overcome this?

Black border around monitor

I updated to windows 10 and I now have a black border around my monitor. I have a dell Inspiron one and was running windows 7 but upgraded to windows 10. The Display adaptor is ATI mobility Radeon HD 4200 series. I can change to a lower resolution 1360
x 768 to get rid of the black frame but the recommended reso is 1920 x 1080. Everything is huge when I go to the 1360 x 768 reso. Is there something else I can do?
