Windows 10: Dell Laptop - Admin User Change Help.

Hi all,


I have a Dell Laptop, that was a works laptop, that I was given as part of my severance package, so out of work 2 weeks before Christmas.


I want to use it to apply for jobs / spruce up my CV !


Ex work removed Office 365 from the laptop so I purchased a years subscription however when i try to download it I get asked for admin name and password.


I have looked about, yes sorry used YouTube and have change the admin passwords on the laptop but still can't download something I really will need over the next few months.


For some reason guess my ex company sorted it so i can't easily put the laptop back to factory settings.


Before you ask i have already tried contacting those that are left in our old IT HQ, but they are stressed as their numbers have been halved and as an ex employee i wouldn't come anyway near the top


Any help to put the laptop back to factory settings would be really apricated.

Are both the accounts are admin account?

I would suggest you to go through the below steps:

Steps: To determine the user account type:

• 
  Login to any account.
  
• 
  Press Windows key+X.
  
• 
  Click on Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on User accounts.
  
• 
  Your user account will show and below that it will show your local account or admin account.
  
• 
  Once you know about the account type.
  
• 
  You can go to user account and change the name.
  
• 
  Press Windows key+R.
  
• 
  Type netplwiz and press enter.
  
• 
  Select the account and click on properties.
  
• 
  Change the user name and click on apply and then ok and one more time click on ok on the main screen.
  
• 
  Reboot the computer and check if it helps

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
