Windows 10: dell laptop fan

i noticed the fan was running more frequently on my dell laptop. i did a restart which corrected the issue.can someone explain what software controls the fan which refreshed upon restart. thanxp.s. i'm running windows 11 24h2 26100.4061

Utility for laptop fan control?

Note that, depending on your laptop, any direct control of the fan may not be possible. I suggested the one above as it seems aimed at laptops in particular- but I've not tried it.

E.g. Speedfan lists no fan on my Thinkpad.

Ok, I've now tried NoteBook FanControl for you.
It has preset configurations for different machines: e.g.




which for my t440s gives




- whereas Speedfan didn't seem to achieve anything, I'm afraid. Presumably you looked at the config editor...

 

I want to disable touchpad on Dell laptop


These 7 steps allowed me to disable my touchpad (Dell laptop, Windows 10):

1. Win Start button
2. Type in "device manager"
3. Select Device Manager to open it
4. Click down arrow to left of "Mice and other..." to expand
5. Right click Dell Touchpad
6. Disable device
7. Yes

 

Dell laptop 5010 fans don't throttle

My dell Inspiron n5010 fans work without throttling.

• I had an 8 beep error which I searched the Google and says it is the video card.
  
• I took it for a repair and was told that the problem wasn't the video card - it was some chip on the board which was replaced.
  
• The 8 beep problem is solved and I can work with my system but now the problem is that the laptop fans work without throttling.
  
• I checked on Windows 10 and Ubuntu, both of them have the same issue.
  
• There are no process intensive application running (like games, autocad, etc).
  
• The CPU and RAM are normal.
  

How can I resolve this?
