Windows 10: Dell laptop from Ubuntu to Windows help

So basically I’ve just purchased a Dell Inspiron 5501 with Ubuntu 18.04.2 preinstalled, no Windows. I am unfamiliar with the Windows 10 installation process from Ubuntu, could someone briefly explain or maybe provide a clear step by step instructions? Also, the shop I got it from has this weird warranty policy, that if something is wrong with the laptop and I need to bring it back for warranty service, I will have to bring it in the same state as I bought it, with Ubuntu. So the other question is, can I do a backup/snapshot of Ubuntu and quickly reverse it back from Windows to Ubuntu, to original state? Thanks in advance!

This is kinda stupid imo.

If Dell supported something like OSX that would be something to talk about to me, but Ubuntu? It's not as if Ubuntu is something that couldn't already be put on Dell computers. If you got your laptop with Ubuntu over Windows something would be wrong with that person's decision making IMHO. I'm not going to go into which OS is easier to use (OSX, Windows, or Ubuntu), I'm just saying if you want Ubuntu get it online or order a live CD. If you don't get Windows with your Dell machine you're just wasting your time IMHO.

Ubuntu 7.10 Coming to Dell XPS M1330 Laptop

It's not a waste. You don't have to pay extra for the Windows license. Even if you didn't want linux, if you get it with Ubuntu, you can use your own Windows if you own one, and save yourself a few bucks.

 

Networking issue - Windows and Ubuntu

Went on a short trip, took my Windows 10 laptop, turned off the Ubuntu computer and my wife's Windows 10 computer. When I returned, I turned everything back on and nether Windows computer could see the Ubuntu 16.04 LTS computer. On the Ubuntu computer, Files/Network clicking on Windows Network received "Unable to access location - Failed to retrieve share list from server: No such file or directory" error. Both Windows computers were able to use the Ubuntu before the trip.

Any suggestions?
