Windows 10: dell laptops battery working after going at 0%

I am using dell inspiron 5000 series from last 3 years. My battery is still working fine, infact i must say "better than fine" as I can still work on it when battery shows "0% remaining". It warns me at 15%,then at 10%, and sleeps automatically at 5%. But when I start it without plugging the charger it after few minutes goes to 0% and then I can still work on it for about 1.5 hours. This strange behavior is not new for me as my laptop is like this only from the very first date I bought it. Can someone tell me why this happens?

1. Shutdown your laptop.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Connect the AC power adapter to your laptop.

4. Power on the laptop

5. Open the Device Manager by typing Devmgmt.msc into Start Menu or from Control Panel.

6. Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall (it’s okay if you only have 1).

7. Shutdown the laptop.

8. Insert the battery.

9. Power on the laptop.

If above suggestions wont resolve the battery charge issue then follow below steps.




Step 2

1. Shutdown the laptop.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Start the laptop with only AC adapter connected to laptop.

4. When you login to Windows OS connect the battery while Windows OS working.

Dell 7532 Battery will not charge. bought new battery same thing

• Go to Control Panel - Device Manager
• Expand the Batteries section
• Right click the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and select Uninstall
• Close Device Manager and Reboot

If the above does not work, then it is probably the power lead (adapter). Dell systems are very particular, if it detects the wrong adapter it will not charge the battery. This can happen in error even when the correct power adapter is connected, please
try the solution below:

• Unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet
• Disconnect any external peripherals connected to the Laptop
• Remove the battery. Refer to the User Manual of the Laptop for instructions on how to remove the battery.
  
  If the Dell laptop has a non-removable battery, skip this step
• Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds to drain a residual power from the Laptop
• Connect the battery
• Plug the AC adapter to the Laptop
• Turn on the Laptop
