Unknown error or is it normal- fan speed variation- dell latitude 7490

Hi Nimai. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help you.

This is a known issue, check out these threads:

    https://www.dell.com/community/Latitude/Latitud...

    https://www.infofuge.com/guide-to-fix-dell-lati...

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/d75oy6/d...

If you are still under warranty or can extend warranty period I would definitely get it repaired as Dell must fix or replace it under law.

I have a Dell Laptop I'm using now that I like a lot and has lasted 5 years without any issue. But I bought my Dad a Dell Slimline that he sent back after not being able to fix it and becoming convinced it was a lemon. So, it happens. And when it does we have to rely on the warranty to protect us.

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.

    Happy Holidays!
