Windows 10: Dell Latitude/Win 10 - dual monitors, only one displays

I'm trying to hook up two monitors to a Dell Latitude 7390 laptop. The laptop has one HDMI and one USB/Thunderbolt port. It does not have a Display Port. I attached one monitor from its HDMI port to the laptop's HDMI port. I attached the other monitor from its DP to the laptop's USB-C/Thunderbolt port using a DP/Thunderbolt adapter cable. Only the latter monitor displays. The HDMI/HDMI monitor does not display, but indicates "searching for display port." Window does not find the monitor when I "Detect."

You need to have a Port replicator depending on the model. Because some monitors supports 3 monitors and some needs to have port replicator to connect 3 monitors. However, I suggest you to follow the below steps, and check if that

Windows 10 upgrade on my Dell Latitude E6410 - does is display the Dell logo, then the windows 10 logo

this didnt work for me. I didnt get a monitor at all both laptop and external, even safe mode didnt work.

had to shift f8 and restore to win 8 for the third time. I think this has something to do with the video driver you had when you installed win 10. I had varying results every time I tried to install and had differing drivers at least twice (tried with the
dell driver and the one that windows installed). the video driver was pretty flaky when i installed win 8 so unless there is a driver replacement for the intel video card for win 10 (come on guys!) I wont be bothering with win 10 at all. as we are about to
use our mobile phones as desktops soon ( new nokia win 10 phone), im pretty sure the e6410, as good as it is, is for the scrapheap soon. brave new world and all that.
