    Dell - Left Trackstick Button Problem: Function changes from "click into" to "Highlight Text"


    I’ve had an ongoing problem with my Left “Trackstick Button” on my Dell Precision 7730 with Windows 10. I use the Trackstick and associated upper buttons exclusively. When I start up my computer and work on any program the buttons operate fine. Usually, like the left lower touchpad button, when you click on a sentence it "enters into" the text between characters. However, when I go into an email and click on the email text, the function of my Left Trackstick button changes to "Highlight text" for whatever sentence I click on. This Mal-function will remain until I restart the computer.


    This has been occurring for several months now and I think it is possibly due to a Touchpad gesture maybe "tap on the touchpad" somehow getting assigned to the button instead of the touchpad.


    Since I use the Trackstick and buttons exclusively it hampers my work and it is really annoying.

    Text highlight not sticking - Post Anniversary Update Issue


    Immediately following the Anniversary Update, I have been experiencing issues with text highlighting.

    Left click text highlighting rarely 'sticks', or stays highlighted after releasing the left mouse button.

    Right click text highlighting doesn't highlight text at all.

    I have tried using another mouse (different manufacturer) - same issue.

    Does anyone have any suggestions, or has anyone experienced this issue?

    P.s. I've tried some basic troubleshooting such as searching for updated drivers, restarting system, using another mouse (as mentioned)

    Using the tab key to hop between text fields highlights all buttons

    Hello,
    Whenever a dialog box pops up in Windows 10, if it contains text input fields and clickable buttons/radio buttons/checkboxes, pressing the tab key steps through every single item in the dialog box, which is very annoying and, to me, pointless. Do I recall that there might be a way to limit this behaviour so the tab key only highlights text input boxes, and not every single element? I can't find anything useful in Windows 10's Settings/Control Panel - am I missing something or is this not possible?

    How to reprogram the Dell TrackStick buttons?

    I don't use the TrackStick on my new Dell Laptop.
    I would love to reprogram the 3 buttons to use for other purposes.
    Is there anyway to do that?
