  2. dell inspiron won't go to sleep

    Hi Dave,

I appreciate your efforts and time.

It could be due to incorrect settings or missing/corrupt drivers or missing updates.

    • Did you make any changes prior to this issue?
    • What and all steps have you tried so far?
I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

Restart the computer a few times and check for Windows Updates.

In the Search box on the taskbar, enter Windows Update, select Windows Update. On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates.

Also, try to run the Power Troubleshooter.

Power troubleshooter will automatically fix some common issues with Power Plans. Run the Power troubleshooter to adjust your computer's power settings. The Power troubleshooter checks things like your computer's timeout settings,
which determine how long the computer waits before turning off the monitor display or entering sleep mode. Adjusting these settings can help you conserve power and extend your computer's battery life.

    • Press Windows Logo Key+X then click on Search option.
    • Type Troubleshooting.
    • Select Troubleshooting and click on
      System and Security.
    • Click on Power and follow the onscreen steps.
Hope this helps in resolving the issue with computer not going Sleep . If the issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist you.

    Thank you.

    Windows Update suddenly hangs?

Windows Update is suddenly hanging for some reason... I went and downloaded and installed the first bunch of updates, restarted when asked, and now when I go back to windows update I just get the window with a white box forever. Reboot and it still does it. This happens to be on my main machine, running windows 7.

I've also noticed when I reboot it says configuring windows update, step 3 of 3, 47%. Maybe it somehow skipped something and is screwed forever?

Dell notebook, after windows update, suddenly screen going black, as if it's going to sleep

    Screen keeps going black

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop running Windows 10. My screen will repeatedly go black, like it went to sleep, in the middle of using something. Following a swipe on the touch screen, shake of the mouse or typing on the keyboard the screen will return to
normal-for a bit. It will happen repeatedly, as fast as every second or two or intermittently every minute or two. Sometimes it will go a good 20 minutes before a black out pattern starts again. It is not over heated, not low on power (happens plugged in
or on battery) or over worked (I can have only one window open). I have updated all drivers and changed power settings with no improvement. What else can I do to fix it?
