Windows 10: Dell Radeon HD 8850M driver issues and BSOD

I own an Inspiron 15R 5537 to which I just did a fresh format and installed Windows 10 1809. Got all the drivers from Dell using their SupportAssist software. The issue is: when connected to the power source, windows won't boot (gives me a black screen), if plugged after the computer is on, it will freeze after a few minutes and sometimes drop a BSOD with the error code DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE. I've analyzed the crash log with WhoCrashed and it showed that the graphics card was responsible, so I retried the driver from Dell (which is an old version) with no luck, tried the most recent driver from AMD's website, but it freezes on install. I've ran the native diagnostics utility from the launch menu, all tests passed. Right now, I've managed a workaround by disabling the graphics card on Device Manager, but that is clearly no solution.

Is this driver related and should I try other driver versions or could this be Windows related or even a hardware failure that the diagnostics didn't get?

Dell Inspiron 5537 AMD Radeon 8850m Driver not detected

well this is my problem, I have a dell inspiron 5537 with windows 10 currently installed on it, and whenever I try to play high-end games like gta 5 or skyrim my game starts to lag a lot. so I did some research and found out that I had to go to Device
manager and enable my graphics card, I went there and I saw Intel (R) HD graphics family already enabled, and the dell inspiron 15R 5537 i7 is supposed to come with the AMD Radeon 8850m, which isn't showing up in the device manager, can somebody please fix
this, it would be the biggest thing that ever happened to me

This issue may have occurred due to compatibility issues between the the graphic card and Windows 10. For us to help you with this concern, we'd like to know the current build and version number of your Windows 10. To check, press the Windows key, type
winver, and press the Enter key.

On another note, there are many threads that reported the same issue with ATI Radeon HD with Windows 10. Our developers are already aware of this and we're already researching for a resolution for a future update.

Meanwhile, we suggest that you perform a roll back on your driver as a workaround. Kindly follow the steps below:

• Go to Device Manager by typing in Devmgmt.msc on the search bar.
  
• Navigate to display devices and right click ATI Radeon HD or similar device you have. Select
  Properties.
• On the Driver tab, hit rollback Driver to go back to the previous version.
  
• The next step would be to block Driver updates from Windows updates.
• Use the show hide tool. As soon as the new driver is detected by Windows Update, hide it. Follow the steps given by
  Sumit Dhiman2 on this
  thread.

GPU-Z is not recognising AMD Radeon HD 8850M

I have a Dell laptop with an AMD Radeon HD 8850M (Catalyst Mobility 13.11 beta 9.2 x64) GPU and Intel HD Graphics 4400 (with latest drivers installed), and this is what I see in GPU-Z:





I set GPU-Z executable to run with high perfomance in Catalyst Control Center, in order to try to force activating the GPU instead of integrated graphics. In Power Options, I created a "Perfomance" power scheme, in which "ATI PowerPlay" and "High Perfomance" varaibles are set to "maximize perfomance":





Is there anything I can do to have GPU-Z correctly identify the GPU or is it an issue inherent of AMD drivers? Thanks in advance.
