    The TPM is on Dell "business" systems and the Vostro's are/were Dell's entry level business machines.
    I was aware of that but never thought that would cause the problem.

    Yes, it seems that PTT is enable by default, so for anyone legacy booting they will get a shock when they update the BIOS, as it appears this update is for the Intel bugs.
