Windows 10: Dell XPS 13 Crashing on Factory Reset (CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED)

Im trying to factory reset on my Dell XPS 13 however everytime I choose any option in the 'Reset My PC' menu, it loads, restarts my laptop and then crashes with the blue screen containing error code: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED.


How do I resolve this? I've owned my XPS for 3 years and there have been no problems with SSD corruption or any hardware failures so I'm assuming is a Windows 10 (my current OS) problem.


Anyone know a solution?

Dell XPS 13 9333 - Windows couldnt not complete the installation, to install windows on this computer, please restart the installation

According to Dell's official Windows 10 Creators Update page, the Dell xps 13 9333 is not listed as tested:

You can try a manual upgraded as suggested in my previous reply using the ISO in addition to the 12 steps before upgrading.

Hi, I recently purchased a dell xp 13 but I have a question, while I picked up my laptop the lady there said I need to go to dell.ca to update my software. How do I go to dell to update my software. Can anyone help

Two pieces of extra information from yesterday evening:

• During another crash triggered by a (test) attempt to restart my computer, two blue screens appeared with the following descriptions: SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION, and PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA.
• In the Dell SupportAssist diagnosis of the crashes ("critical events"), it was reported that the crashes were probably caused by, in one case, a McAfee system file (McAfee LiveSafe is my Internet security software), and in another case, a file related to
  Devolo software that visualises and allows me to manage my Powerline devices in the house. I therefore deinstalled the Devolo software, and deinstalled and reinstalled the McAfee software. I will test tonight if this addressed the issue of the crashes or not.

In any case, it is remarkable that the crashes, both before and after the forced factory reset, occurred as soon as Windows 10 Fall Creators Update was installed. I therefore continue to think that this update triggered or is at least related - perhaps in
combination with other applications that experience compatibility issues - to the crashes I experienced.

For info: my laptop is only 1.5 months old. The latest BIOS version recommended by Dell has been installed.
