    Dell XPS 9500 Settings


    Hello...I have a brand new Dell XPS 15 9500 with both Intel and Nvidia graphics. Except when I open Nvidia Control Panel and click the image settings I see 0 activity from the discrete Nvidia card (1650Ti). Even then it moves 1 - 2%. Is this normal behavior or should I see more of a balance between the on-processor (Intel UHD) and Nvidia graphics? I assume if I changed from Auto to high performance discrete in Nvidia Control panel that might work...but probably kill battery, correct?

    According to Dell's official Windows 10 Creators Update page, the Dell xps 13 9333 is not listed as tested:

    You can try a manual upgraded as suggested in my previous reply using the ISO in addition to the 12 steps before upgrading.

    UAD vs. HDA Drivers Dell XPS

    I just received a new XPS 15 9500 in the mail today and intend to open and set up this weekend. It's replacing a XPS 13 9350 (a few years old now). Minor complaint I've had with the XPS 13 is that newer UAD (audio) drivers are incompatible (no sound or simply won't install) and you are stuck using legacy HDA drivers that aren't updated as often. In looking at the file size of the audio drivers for the XPS 15 9500 (Dell's web site) it appears they are also the legacy HDA drivers. Has anyone tried installing UAD from Microsoft Catalog or similar...i.e. generic without MaxxAudio or other enhancements? I've had good luck with the UAD on my desktop and with the new Realtek Audio Control app. Would like to use these on my laptop(s) as well. Thanks.

    Windows version will be Windows 10 Pro 20H2
