Windows 10: Dell XPS hard drive crashed, rebirth new drive to Win 10 pro

My hard drive on my Dell XPS has crashed and is not going to come back. My Win 7 Pro operating system and all the precious Windows software, like Office 2016 went with it. Which version of Win 2010 Professional do I need and how can it be loaded on a bare (new) hard drive? Anyway to find my registration records? Is there a registration database accessible ?

Pull hard drive from dell and put in acer, both win 10 pro upgrade from win 7 upgraded from

Hi

Two desk tops both win 10 pro, both upgraded from OEM Win 7 pro.

I have an old Acer (Aspire M5100) (hard drive repeated failures already tried clean re-install.

I have an old Dell (E521) (originally XP), hard drive seems to be fine, perhaps slow. Dell PC is incredibly slow, slow processor for sure.

1. Can I pull the hard drive from the Dell and replace the hard drive in Acer with it?

I have a new win 10 ISO disc I just made, it appears to clean install on Acer which has so far automatically re-activated (code tied to processor?).

Please provide steps.

2. Also, can I use the memory in Dell to add to Acer memory?

Memory slots in dell full (I added years ago, helped maybe a little). Not sure what is in Acer currently with 4 MB, might be open slots.

Please provide steps and risks. Not interested in any third part SW or downloads.

Hi 4501, you can reinstall Windows 10 at any time and it will not cost you anything !

Since you previously had Windows 10 installed and activated on that PC during the installation process skip the steps which ask for a product key and select the option 'I am Reinstalling Windows 10 on this PC', and activation will not be an issue, your PC will
have a digital entitlement stored on the Microsoft Activation Servers

Make sure you install the same Edition of Windows 10 (Home, Pro . . . etc.) you previously had installed to avoid Activation issues

to download the Media Creation Tool (Click on Download Tool Now), with that you can download the latest Windows 10 ISO (Select Create Installation Media for Another PC), you can create a bootable USB flash drive (min 8GB) using that tool

Then, Boot your PC from the Installation Media you just created (change Boot Order in your BIOS) to begin installing Windows 10
