Windows 10: Denied access to personal folder

I'm at my wits end and really need some help. I turned my computer on yesterday and ws denied access to my personal folder. Under the folder documents, I created a folder for myself to put personal research etc files in. Now there's some kind of a green mark on the bottom left of it and I cannot get access no matter how I try. I also cannot access my music files and a couple of other folders with my personal info in them. I have access to everything else. Can someone please help? And no I stupidly do not have a recent backup. Thank you for any help you can give me before I go totally nuts

This can occur for one or more of the following reasons:

• The folder ownership may have changed.
• You do not have the proper permissions.
• The file may be encrypted.
• The file may be in use.
• The file may be corrupt.
• The user profile may be corrupt.

To resolve this issue, the first step is to run CHKDSK. It detects and fix disk corruption. To run CHKDSK, follow these steps:

• Press Win+X.
• Select Command Prompt (Admin).
• In the window that opens enter your CHKDSK command.

Change Folder Destination access Denied

After following the steps suggested, I get the message "Access denied" in command prompt.

Please advise how to allow permission.
